In an Emergency Step-by-Step

Step 1 — Call 911 if there is immediate danger.
If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger, or if you believe someone is about to harm themselves or others, call 911. Tell them what is happening and where you are.

Step 2 — Call or text 988 if you are in crisis but not in immediate physical danger.
988 connects you with a trained crisis counselor who can help you figure out next steps. You can also chat at 988lifeline.org.

Step 3 — Reach out to someone you trust.
If it is safe to do so, tell a friend, family member, or someone nearby what is happening. You do not have to go through this alone.

Step 4 — Contact LCMHA for local crisis support.
