Explore What We Do
Mental health care should be available to everyone. Here’s how we do it.
Local Mental Health Programs
We work on four fronts: helping people pay for therapy, teaching the community about mental health, pushing for better local policy, and gathering the data that backs it all up. Here’s how each one works.
Our Services
Four ways we work toward accessible mental health care.
Financial Assistance
We help cover the cost of therapy for people who can't afford it.

If cost has been the thing standing between you and getting help, we want to change that. We offer financial assistance to help cover the cost of therapy for people who are uninsured, underinsured, or struggling to afford care.
You fill out a short application, we review it, and if you qualify we connect you directly with a licensed therapist. It's not instant, and we're honest about that.
There's a review process to make sure we're reaching the people who need it most. But we move as quickly as we can, and we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
Community Education
Free workshops and outreach to help people understand mental health.

Mental health care works better when a whole community understands it, not just the people receiving it.
We bring free education to Lenawee County and the communities around it. That means workshops, community talks, and training for local professionals who want to better support the people they serve.
Our goal is simple. The more people who understand mental health, the fewer people fall through the cracks.
Advocacy
Working to change the systems that make care hard to access.

Some of the biggest barriers to mental health care aren't personal. They're systemic.
We advocate for policies and funding that make mental health care more accessible in rural Michigan, where options are often limited and waitlists are long. That means showing up, speaking up, and working alongside other organizations who care about the same thing.
Individual support matters. So does changing the systems that make support so hard to find in the first place.
Data and Research
Local research that makes the case for the resources this community deserves.

You can't fix what you don't understand. We collect local data on mental health needs and access gaps in Lenawee County.
This research helps us make informed decisions, and it gives us something to point to when we're asking funders, policymakers, and partners to invest in this community.
It's not the most visible part of our work, but it is one of the most important.
Clinical Support Through The Healing Project
We partner with The Healing Project, an independent licensed therapy practice in Adrian, Michigan, to provide clinical care to people approved for financial assistance through us.
The Healing Project and we are separate organizations. When you’re approved for financial assistance, we cover the cost of your care there. Your therapy happens with their team of licensed clinicians.
The Healing Project offers:
- Individual therapy for all ages, including young children
- Family and group therapy
- Telehealth options
- Specialized support for neurodiversity including ADHD, Autism, and OCD
- Trauma and survivor-focused support
